He is a national political reporter for the Washington Post and a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC.
Biography (age, parents)
A native of Yardley, Pennsylvania, Robert Costa was born on October 14, 1985, in Richmond, Virginia, United States, to parents Thomas E. and Anne-Dillon D. Costa. He attended Pennsbury High School where he was recognized for his social skills and journalism acumen. Costa will be particularly remembered during his high school years for his ability to bring top musicians such as Maroon 5, John Mayer and Eve 6 to perform at school events.
His journalism days also began a long time ago at a school where, as a reporter for “The Bucks County Courier Times,” he primarily interviewed musicians, bands, and reviewed gigs in the Philadelphia area, earning up to $50 per item. He also covered professional and local sports for student television station PHS-TV.
He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from 2004 to 2008 and is still a member of the board of trustees as well as the advisory committee of the John W. Gallivan program in journalism, ethics and democracy. He then went to the University of Cambridge where he obtained a master’s degree in politics in 2009. During his studies, he was also an active member of the Cambridge Union discussion society.
He’s done internships with PBS’ Charlie Rose, the This Week with George Stephanopoulos and the UK House of Commons. While still a crowd puller in college, he hosted and produced an interview program for NDTV called Office Hours.
Career
After graduation, Costa became a Robert L. Bartley Fellow at the Wall Street Journal, and in 2010 worked as a reporter at National Review, an American bimonthly magazine focusing on political, social, and cultural affairs. In 2012, he was promoted to the magazine’s Washington editor. He also collaborated there for CNBC and MSNBC. In January 2014, he left National Review and officially joined The Washington Post. In December of the following year, he became a political analyst for NBC and MSNBC.
Apparently praised for his hard work reporting on the Republican Party in Congress during the US federal government shutdown in 2013, Robert Costa has been named “the most important journalist in the country”. Additionally, the New York magazine dubbed him the golden boy of the government shutdown.
Costa covers presidential and congressional politics, and has often been described as a “Trump Whisperer” due to the various in-depth interviews he has had with Donald Trump. His recent work focuses on power struggles within the Republican Party and President Donald Trump’s political career thus far.
Costa’s coverage of presidential campaigns earned him great admiration. Most recently, he was named Washington Week’s moderator on PBS, making him the eighth moderator for Washington Week in its 50-year history. Prior to this latest appointment, he has appeared as a panelist and guest moderator on Washington Week since 2014.
Personal life – Is Robert Costa married with wife and children?
Costa seems to live a very private life and has so far kept his personal affair under the radar despite having an active social media life. Although there are some reports that he is married with children, we have no evidence to confirm this information as there is no record of his past relationships or love life.
Costa portrays the life of someone who is more focused on his craft than having a girlfriend or an affair and thus his personal life remains a mystery to the media.
Additionally, the exact values of his salary and net worth are unknown. But for a successful journalist at the peak of his career, we know he’s well paid and likely has a net worth of millions of dollars. He lives in Washington, DC
Weightloss
More recently, Costa has lost weight, which is quite visible on his face. From a recent interview, it is speculated that he achieved this feat by dieting rather than exercising. Although his new look doesn’t qualify as a killer physique, Costa now looks more physically appealing than ever.
